Abram's Choice

So today (Genesis 13) Abram & nephew Lot had to part ways and Abram gave Lot the choice of best grazing land for his herds. When he went the other way, God spoke to Abram that all the land he now saw would belong to him and his descendants. I wonder how often our own world would get larger if we more consistently let others go first?

I love the whole chapter of Mathew 5.  It is soooooo full of great stuff!  Beatitudes, salt and light, no anger, avoid temptation, oaths, an eye for an eye, love your enemys......a person could rest here for a long time and not get bored.
We are doing a little old, a little new, a little proverbs and a little psalms everyday!  I have looked forward to reading every day.....
Hope God is speaking to you through his word this week!

Have you noticed any new beginings this week.  That is the focus for the week for us doing the "God Sightings" bible. I had a crown put on my tooth this morning and thought, " this could be a new begining"!  I also started driving my new (old) van this morning....yet another begining!  How about you?

Shine your light!!!

Genesis 9

After many years of reading this chapter something jumped out at me this morning. Long before the eating/food restrictions were given to Moses, God says to Noah, "Everything that lives and moves will be food for you" (verse 3a). God gives all here but later restricts the food list. In the end (See Acts chapter 10) all foods are declared available again. Reminder to self: Sometimes God gives restrictions for my benefit and later removes them when He knows I can handle the freedom without getting in to trouble. Our God is a wise God!

Monday Jan 3rd 2011

Well so far, so good!  It's a new year, new begining, fresh start.....I love this time of year.  2 down, 363 to go!  I have a small accountability group doing this with me.....Orr, Shalina and Stacee, but I would love to have lot's of people posting on this page.
A few series ago,  Tad talked about the accumulative value of things, and I am resting in that when it comes to reading the bible every day. (and actually reading the whole bible in a year!) I know that there will be blessing in this venture more than I can imagine!  Yayyyyyy
I have never read the whole bible. I will do it in 2011!  Feeling good about it so far....
How are you doing?
